Hey there! It's Erik Daniels, the guy that finishes your workday here on The New Mix 97.7.
I've been living in Bakersfield (or, Bako, as I like to call it) for just over 9 years now. I'm originally from Orange County, where I spent a lot of my free time at Newport Beach where I would boogie board, surf, and end up drinking way too much salt water while doing it. I also worked at Knott's Berry Farm, where I met my wife, Dawn. We've now been married 10 years, and have a sassy little 8-year-old, Chloe.
I love Bakersfield for the change of pace although growing up with LA Freeways, it has taken some getting used to-- actually moving during rush hour! I also love that Bakersfield is close to everything. If I want to play in the snow with the family, head to the beach, or visit my home town... it's all just a couple hours away. You can also find me heading out on the 46 whenever I can do some wine tasting. Meridian is the way to my heart, I tell ya. I guess that's also why I can usually be found at Trader Joe's or Cost Plus.
